Green Woodpecker (Picus viridis)A large green body with the most striking red stripe running backwards from the top of the head. They can grow up to 35cm tall and up to 50cm in wingspan.
Peregrine Falcon (Falco peregrinus)Peregrine Falcons are some of the largest and most famous of the native birds. In the UK, they tend to nest in cliff edges and dig holes into rockfaces to lay eggs. There is estimated to be around 1,500 of them left.

Barn Owl (Tyto alba)Barn Owls have a big circular ruffle around the neck, almost a circular face even. With a neck that can turn 180 degrees, and large talons, the Barn Owls is a menace to mice at night.
Grey Heron (Ardea cinerea)The Grey Heron are medium-to-large wading birds who like to walk through shallow water. Incredibly long necks and big faces. Gentle natured fishers native to the UK.

Buzzard (Buteo buteo)The Buzzard is large - averaging 50cm, with a 1.4 metre wingspan. They're hunting birds of prey who are attracted to large coniferous trees and rocks. Will kill and eat all small mammals.
Little Egret (Egretta garzetta)The Little Egret is about 50cm tall. Long spiny legs and a thick white plumage coat surrounding. It is related to, but smaller than, the Grey Heron. The only other river wader native to the UK and a little less common than the bigger Grey brother.
Goshawk (Accipiter gentilis)Goshawks have a striking black-and-white pattern under their wings, and upon their chest - almost like a Zebra. They, too, are birds of prey with large talons, a beak, and are about 60cm tall.
Robin (Erithacus rubecula)Robins have a orangey red chest and round, plump bodies. They are small, often weighing in at only 20 grams, and are often found darting between trees, either hunting for berries, worms, or evading birds of prey. The Robin has become a symbol of Christmas, Love, and Hope, all for a reason.
Mallard (Anas platyrhynchos)The Mallard is also known as the Wild Duck and is among many cultures. It's native to Eurasia and the Americas, however is now a worldwide species. The little guys you see at the local duck pond, that's them.
